As has everyone in the national media for the last week, big deal. Like you took the time to pour through the budgets and come up with the tallies on your own. The irony is that even similar money would be spent on the Obama inauguration after Democrats complained so bitterly about the costs in 2005. It's like the budget deficit. Democrats whine about huge deficits until they get put in charge, and their first act is going to be to double or triple the deficit.
As for the actual costs, I'll wait for someone to produce the final numbers next year and we can see what the damage is. I don't especially care about the money, it's a celebration of our democracy, they should spend the money to do it right.
