I think it was FDR that said that Americans could "take it right on
the chin" as long as you told them like it is, didn't lie, and told
them what they had to do.

So far I think Obama has been doing a great job setting expectations
for both the work ahead (a lot) and who has to do it (everyone) and
how easy it will be (not very).

I prefer to think that people are excited about years from now.

They're excited that they now have a starting place.
