How about the fact that the humans were supposed to have built the (robotic) cylons who revolted and retreated forty years ago to THEN evolve into the human-like cylons... who apparently were around 2,000 years earler? How about the fact that the human-like cylons apparently don't age... and yet people like Tigh and Terrel have been around for decades (we've been told that Adama and Tigh have been serving together "since the war")? I like the small scale stories they generate incredibly well... but the overall timeline and foundation has been gone over with a butcher knife.
