I've been completely happy with my 47 inch LCD, and sports is pretty much
ALL i watch :)

Just make sure you get 1080i, and your friend should be fine. The only time
when I've had any problems with blur is when a massive, and i mean massive,
amount of fast action is occurring on the screen at the same time. For
instance, in the PLanet Earth series when a flock of about 100,000 pink
flamingos all take off at the same time, you get a bit of blur :)

But never once in a football or basketball game.
