I think he did something similar with the enhanced SCHIP bill. Or maybe his statements about ending earmarks and reducing pork: Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending: Obama's Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate. Even the most liberal of folks agree that there is at LEAST 2% in the "Stimulus" that falls under that clause. Oh, I know! The lobbyist restrictions: "No political appointees in an Obama-Biden administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years." Even though he removed himself from the nomination for tax reasons, Tom Daschle, while not technically registered as a lobbyist, still worked with healthcare organizations, "advising the firm's clients on issues related to all aspects of public policy."
