Amen to that, sister! Providing a hosting service that has a fixed cost and
requires no effort is one thing, but spending additional time on a
non-paying client is quite another. I have been down that road and it sucks.
Right now everyone is squeezing blood out of turnips, it seems.

One rule I have for now - no fixed scope projects. In this economy, that is
very likely to lead to death by a thousand scope creeps, lol.
