Beheading is mentioned once in the Koran:

"When you encounter the unbelievers on the battlefield, strike off their
heads until you have crushed them completely; then bind the prisoners
tightly."

Fundamentalists take this as behead infidels. Others take it's meaning to
be, when you encounter the enemy strike at the neck to ensure death. It's
not really "a practice" of the Muslim faith. Also, it states on the
battlefield, not at the market.

The fact that extremist/radical Muslim groups twist this use beheading
doesn't make it: a) just part of common Muslim practice or b) a systematic
problem in the Muslim faith. All extremist groups twist truth to their own
ends, and extreme Islam is no different.

As a christian that's lived in harmony with Muslims I know that it's
possible for Islam to be non-violent, or at least as non-violent as any
other religion.
