No, I think if it more as us collectively poking the sore spots, to remind
us they are there.

A little introspection of our soul, even of your neighbor's soul, is a
natural and probably healthy thing.

Taking it to excess, as with most anything, is the problem.

Just as humanity should feel bad about killing all the dodos, and Americans
should collectively feel bad about damage in Iraq, and white Americans
should feel collectively guilty about slavery, and white American men should
feel collectively bad about dancing in public, we should own our collective
issues, both to call "Bad" on them, and to work to make them a "thing of the
past".

It's not that it is our collective fault, but it is our collective
responsibility, and if it CONTINUES, and we don't work to change it, it
becomes our fault.

We all own the sins and credits of our collective groups.

It is what we do from here on out that really matters.

As Janet Jackson once opined "What have you done for me lately?".

(Sorry, I'm supposed to call her Miss Jackson. Those are the rules.)
