Well, like most of the things you say, you have zero factual basis for
it. Which is a shame, really. I think of you as kind of a tragic
figure ...

But anyway, I'll fill in some facts for you and then you could pretend
you'd actually thought of them.

See the problem with Carter was that he was arrogant, temperamental,
rigid, and insular. He was a naval lieutenant under Rickover after
all and he was always deeply religious. To boot, he was a self-made
millionaire. Thus he had a supreme confidence in himself, but was
also used to a strictly enforced command structure where he was boss.

He tended to be ideological and didn't take counsel.

These personality facts both drove him to public service, but also
made him mostly a failure.

Comparatively he and Obama share little personally. Obama is not
ideological, not deeply religious, didn't grow in the south, wasn't a
military officer, and isn't arrogant. Obama not only takes council
but has a record amount of it. He's easy to approach and even his
republican opponents label him a charming and engaging host.

So there. I've made a little factual based opinion.

Now. If you disagree with my little analysis, let's see the
personality facts that are driving you to your conclusions.
