Yeah, could be. I'm not sure I totally believe that, but even if it's NOT true it would've had that same effect. My sense, though, is that you're more right than wrong and that's what's driving Obama's push to slash the deficit. It was ignored for so long that it's now become a national security issue. One thing's for sure: Cheney was wrong when he said "deficits don't matter".
