Oh exactly.  And the testing companies and the equip suppliers and etc, etc.

The point is if you switch the payer from private insurance to the
government it's not as if a Doctor's incentive to prescribe his
buddy's products and services goes away.

And if the new single payer decided to drop the rates the doctor was
getting for HIS services, well the doctor just might be incented to
start prescribing a LOT more Xanax, huh?

Luckily we don't have to settle for single payer.
