One thing that stuns me is the middle class ability to pretend they're going to be rich. Because here are the facts: (1.) In the last 20 years median income has shrunk. In other words, adjusted for inflation, if you're middle class you're worse off than you were 20 years ago. Broken down across presidents, it was slightly up after Clinton's 8 years but Bush destroyed those minuscule gains and turned it into a loss. Put another way, not only didn't the wealthy "trickle down" to you, your wealth just trickled down. (2.) So how did the wealthy do over the last 20 years? Take a guess. Just on Wall Street - just there - they are up $105 billion during 8 years of Clinton and $185 Billion during 8 years of Bush. And that doesn't include any of the bank bailouts that are going on. So has there been wealth redistribution over the last 20 years? Damn straight. The government has redistributed it to the wealthy. So unless you're worth more than $11 million dollars stop pretended like you got anything over the last 20 years. The thing you got is robbed. And I guess what really pisses me off is that you robbery victims don't even know you got taken.
