Dear sweet GOD! This has to be the most pessimistic take on life I've seen in a LONG time!
Let me see if I got this right - the "working man" can never get rich? Uhm, let me throw out some names: Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or how about the entire list found at http://www.dulcenegosyante.com/top-20-internet-millionaires-under-30 How many of those people were born into their wealth? Yes, there is what is known as "old money" - Paris Hilton is an example that comes to mind there. However, look at any successful athlete that has "retired", any musician that has their heads on straight enough not to get into trouble and people with an idea and the willingness to do something with it and you will find the proof that your pessimistic "poor me" view of things is wrong. There is no invisible line in the fiscal sand that keeps anyone from being wealthy. It takes hard work, good judgment, common sense and sometimes a bit of restraint. More importantly it takes a LOT of self control while you are on your way. The biggest glass ceiling most people have to contend with is their own inability to control the urge to spend and rack up debt. If you want to blame anything for your own inability to save money and make it work for you, it is that. I'm in the process of paying down my debt, something that is not easy in this economy. It's a hard thing to do too, not because I don't make enough money to pay on our debts but because we have to control the desire to have the latest, greatest thing. It's also difficult because it takes time, a LONG time, to do. When we're done, though, it will be so worth it! You do have one thing right, though, the "middle class" has become complacent and competitive at the same time. As a collective group they are in a rat race where they covet their neighbor's possessions and borrow money (credit) to get their own things. Only, instead of being seen as a bad thing we call it "keeping up with the Jonses". Such a stupid game. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:290125 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
