My mother and father divorced when I was very young. I was raised by my
mother and stepfather, (who I am generally mean when I say "my parents"). I
went to public school until college. I wanted to work in high school so I
could have spending money, but my parents would not allow me to work during
the school year. They gave me $10 a week to do household chores, which was
nice, but I would have preferred to do the household chores for free and
earn minimum wage doing a real job.

Not really. My mother wanted me to be a lawyer and then run for Congress,
and she basically ignored any other path that I was interested in.

And then some, for which I am very thankful.

I've never planned on it, I have no idea what I may get, and I'm really not
concerned about it. I work hard because I enjoy what I do and I want to make
a contribution to human civilization. If that makes me some money, even
better.

Not at the moment, but who knows? No guarantees in life.

I find it very typical of you to make assumptions about things of which you
have no knowledge. My parents, although still wealthy, gave away most of
their money to charitable causes, and if I happen to make serious money at
what I do, I would very much enjoy giving it away, too. Personal
responsibility, hard work, and generosity to the less fortunate- those are
the values that I believe in.
