The counterpoint is that a general profile that contains all Muslims is a doomed profile. Lets take Somali Muslims. Many of those who have come here have rejected our way of life and have shrived to change America to their ideals (Sharia). They are closely related to jihad activities and we've been watching them come, go, and even disappear. We can apply a terrorist/terror supporter profile to them easily (and should). The Druze are an offshoot of Islam and are on the whole peaceful. Religiously isolationists but that doesn't make them bad. They would not fit well in any terrorist profile. Indian Muslims have been shown to be anti-terror (rejecting the mumbai bombers burial) and are also bad fits for a terrorist profile. The thing that makes one Muslim a target for a terrorist profile is how they live in their country of origin. Do they want their own laws? Do they force their laws on others? Do they force some people to be second (or lower) class citizens? Are they public in their support of jihad? Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Great Britain are all countries who's Muslim population should be profiled when coming to America. Now this is a standard profile. If someone is acting really suspiciously then they should be looked at carefully profile or not.
So the counterpoint is to apply the terrorist profile more to those Muslims who fit it than to those who don't.
