Read? Eh. Watched some pretty cool stuff on PBS, "read' some stuff on-line... saw "spare change"... Are you honestly suggesting that 9/11 occurred because we didn't pay enough attention to the attackers skin color, or apparel, or place of worship? That it would have been prevented if only we'd been more suspicious of people who looked like terrorists-- meaning, obviously middle-eastern men, according to your statistics? And so long as we're talking about the "root" of the problem here, according to your facts, and statistics and whatnot-- do you think the motivation for the attack on 9/11 was religious? We were like babes in the wood, doe-eyed, blue-jean wearing, coke drinking pacifists, attacked simply because we were considered sinners or whatever, according to some religion, or some such? You seriously believe that more resources should go towards looking at people who are "statistically" more likely to be terrorists, than, say, communication, foreign intelligence, and diplomacy? > So still no counterpoint that I can see. Seems like you are looking for something that makes peace more difficult. > If immigrants want to show up, become part of a community and help > build it up ... mo' powa to ya, bring it! We are a nation of immigrants, as Howard Fineman, on The Colbert Report said-- to which Colbert answered "now we're a nation of Americans" =] > But if you wanna show up to set up a covert network for the purpose of > murder? Well, that can't be tolerated. Especially if you "fit the bill", apparently. The one's I'm *really* scared of are the obvious looking ones ;-) > Reminds me of my favorite Dolph Lundgren line: > > Alien: I come in peace > Dolph: <russian accept>"you go in pieces" > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8F92p1ept0 I remember that movie! It was actually a rip off of a (IMO) horrible one done years earlier. An hour-and-a-half I'll never get back. Can't say that I'd want it any other way. -- He who says there is no such thing as an honest man, you may be sure is himself a knave.
