I personally, being female and Irish/Nordic in looks do not have a dog in this race. However. It concerns me that we think it is ok to roust dark-skinned men who stop at the side of the road. I stop at the side of the road all the damn time, whether to make a phone call, kill some time, or decided whether errand a or errand b is more urgent. I do not pay any attention to the presence or absence of synagogues, preschools or little green men when I do so. I consider it my god-given right to park in a parking space on a public road and I believe the same should apply to Spaniards, Mexicans, Greeks, Egyptians and Pakistanis, whether they have beards or not, or whether they have turbans or not. Now, supposing they are there for hours on end and watching the synagogue through binoculars let's say ... now we have crossed the line into suspicious behavior.
