I was fortunate enough to attend the Tattoo in 2001, it was one of the most
amazing things I had ever seen. We also spent time in Inverness and
Ballachulish, When I started looking at real estate prices my ex-wife
flipped..

My mother was born in Edinburgh. Her father was a Moran, from Ireland,
county Cork I believe. Her mother was a Dummond (scots). I used to play the
bagpipes and when I was 17 I was very fortunate to participate in the
Edinburgh Military Tattoo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edinburgh_Tattoo),
as part of the Winnipeg Mass Pipes and Drums. As a side trip we went over to
Eire and was able to visit where the family came from in County Kerry. It
was a fairly wild trip. Never mix bagpipes, scotch or irish whiskey and 17
year old kids. Its a dangerous combo - you have to listen to drunk pipers
all night.
