Eh - some guy wrote an essay.  Big whoop.  As the article states, this
was initially suggested by John Maynard Keynes in the 1940s.  Hasn't
happened in the past 70 years, so I wouldn't count on this happening
next week.

The article agrees, stating "China has little choice but to hold the
bulk of its $2,000bn of foreign exchange reserves in US dollars, and
this is unlikely to change in the near future."

Nothing is changing overnight.  I think it's fine to entertain some
notions that might improve global stability, even if it slightly
reduces US control over world financial markets.
