If you are concerned about lightning strikes, add a second layer of protection in the form of a small surge/spike protector that attaches to the outlet. My parents experience lightning strikes on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, so my stepfather got these small tube-shaped surge protectors that attach to the outlet to protect valuable equipment. The devices cost ~ $25 each and protect against big spikes from lightning strikes, etc. You attach the UPS power cable to the device and it protects the UPS, which protects the computer. If it seems like overkill, consider my stepfather's background in electrical engineering. He designed nuclear power plant systems, among other things, and his design thinking always starts with redundancy and safety. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:293785 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
