Sounds like me when my dad first let me mow the yard. I thought I was all
grown up. A while after that, mowing the yard started not to be so much fun
anymore. It got old pretty fast.

Ugh .. I just got in and boy am I beat. I went to the Charlotte CityFest
and saw a whole bunch of bands including Sister Hazel, No Doubt and STP. I
missed Flickerstick though :(

It's nice having your best friend (Chris from now on) be in the radio
business. I got a free ticket to the event, a nice dinner at this Italian
resturant (which was paid for by one of the radio stations hosting the
event), and some free beer. I also talked with No Doubt's record label
manager/rep. guy and hung out for a little bit with some of the higher-ups
at Infinity Broadcasting. I also got to meet TJ, from The Ace and TJ
morning show .. if any of you even get that in your area ...

Chris got in to town too late last night for us to go to the CityFest and
perhaps meet Bush .. which is a shame .. I like them. We were hoping to
meet Gwen Stefani tonight, but her manager/record label rep. said she's not
been feeling well the past week and doesn't feel like all of the attention.
She didn't even do an interview. Chris is a big Gwen fan so he gave her
label rep./manager his card and the rep. (I wish I could remember his name
at the moment) said next time No Doubt comes to Charlotte, he'd hook us up
with some kind of short "hi, how are ya?" type of thing. Pretty spiffy. We
could have met STP, but no one was really a big fan, so we opted to hang
around and drink beer instead ;)

Chris, his GF, and I might go to Carowinds tomorrow morning too. I think he
can score 2 free tickets with his media pass ;). He also gave me another
free ticket to the CityFest for tomorrow afternoon. Jethro Tull, Hootie and
the Blowfish, and Kid Rock will be playing (among others). Might as well go
. heck, it's free :)

I might not get out often, but when I do, I do it right ;)
