No need, you just conceded one.

But all that malarkey aside, i was thinking micro while you were thinking
macro. I know plenty of people who are registered republicans, and their
principles are quite strong.

As for the republican party and/or majority of republican
congressman.....you could be right, but I'm not sure party affiliation
really matters that much. Principles seem to be anathema to politics.
