So I'm looking for this but I'm not sure it exists anywhere. I own two Airport Express devices - one is plugged into the stereo in my living room, one in the bedroom. I use them primarily to pipe music from my iTunes library to other areas of my condo. Along with the computer speakers in my office I can listen to the same music via iTunes in all three places, office, bedroom, living room - effectively bathing my entire (relatively small) place in the same music. Even cooler, I can control iTunes wirelessly from my iPhone - but now I'm just overcompensating for my small condo.
The only missing piece is the outdoors. Now that it's getting nicer outside I'm spending more time on my back patio and rooftop patio. My wireless network is *very* strong in both places, so it's natural that I would attempt to connect some sound up out there and wirelessly connect it to my iTunes collection via wifi the same way the rest of my place is. Now, I can accomplish this by buying another Airport Express and some sort of portable music system and connecting the two. What I would prefer, however, it an all-in-one device that I can carry to either patio, or even the bathroom while I'm in the shower, and listen to an iTunes playlist. Call me lazy, but I don't want to deal with carrying two devices around when I want to listen to music in a portable location. So - what I am looking for is a "boombox" or some other portable music system that can join a wireless network and serve as remote speakers for iTunes out of the box. I've looked around a little and nothing has come up yet.
