Pelosi is trying to spin her way out of a tight spot. The CIA says that
senior members of Congress, including Pelosi, were briefed on the program in
2002. Is the CIA lying now? Seems very unlikely. I agree that 3 is probably
closest to the truth, at least from what we know today. Senior members of
the Bush Administration knew, the CIA knew, and according to the best
current information available (and contrary to Pelosi's statements) she and
several other members of Congress were briefed. I don't know if they lied
about it to the other members of Congress, or if they just regarded it as a
state secret during wartime that should not be disclosed.
