I had little doubt Kris would win. Not only does he have wider current appeal,
he has the likability and is just cute as a button. No one votes on idol like
the teenage girl contingent and he was the perfect package for that group to
hook in to. He was much more likely to pick up the Gokey voters as well.
America likes underdogs and he clearly was the underdog. Adam is more talented
definitely, but I don't feel he had quite the same connection with the audience
that really made you rout for him to win. With Adam, I felt I was watching a
diva performance in a huge impersonal theatre...with Kris, it seemed more like
you were invited into his home to listen to an intimate personal performance
just for you. Also, his family seemed to be more in the picture throughout the
show than Adam...and much more a part of the visit home as well. It was like we
were part of his family. Kris just seemed so much more the boy-next-store and
the southern contestants also have tended to do better on the show. So for
me...no surprise at all, given the much more homey, friendly type of package
that he presented to the audience.

I still think Adam rocks though!
