Yeah, that's the thing - I'm not expecting many orders so bulk is out
of the question.

I did some comparisons between the sites. CafePress has their shirts
at the $20 mark or higher.  Zazzle seems to be the only place that
sells the shirts for less and I've heard bad things about their
payment program... so I guess I'm just overreacting to current
pricing.
