OK, this is kind of strange. My father was on the boardwalk at Coney Island when he was stopped by parks department police and asked for his ID. My mother got a call from the police to verify his information. It seems all males were being asked. No reason was given. I tried to check what was going on and the news said that there was a sewage overflow at the beach. Not the board walk, the beach. So why were they checking IDs? My father described it as the gestapo with over a hundred cops there. I didn't know that sewage needed an ID check of males.
