It is probably important to seperate the debate into "What can the Internet" as a whole can handle, what would bring down the entire internet or at least large sections of it. From the different focus of "What can a highly used address" on the internet handle. It is the latter that I have been thinking on. What could a site do if their traffic suddenly doubled, tripled, more? It brings on vague ideas about cloud computing where more power could quickly and easily be added for the duration of the load. Another idea idea to ponder would be capabilities in web servers to sense traffic overload and automatically start serving up more streamlined, less data intense versions of the information for the duration. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
