What's great about not programming anymore is I do not have to have a powerhouse to run SQL Server, Oracle, CF Server, .NET, blah blah blah. So now I have a cheap-o Acer Extensa 5420. It is not a power horse by any stretch of the imagination, but it suites me fine now, and I only paid $500.00, including MS Office 2007 Business Edition. All I need my machine for now is email, surfing the web and doing my online college work. (I am not a huge gamer, not enough time with missions, school and fiancee). Life is so much simpler now, LOL. Only thing I am going to do to this is get a bigger hard drive (although I got a 1.5 TB external drive for only $140.00 at Cosco when I was on leave last month) and more RAM, and nuke Vista and go back to XP, probably something lightweight like Home, although I do like Pro a lot.
