Anyone on here have any knowledge of Powershell? (the artist formerly known
as Monad, hehe). 'll go ahead and ask the questions in case, to expedite.

I have a string variable named "w" to which I have assigned a regex of
"\d\d.\d\d.\d\d" -- ie three sets of two numbers separated by some character
such as as a slash or a hyphen (or..)

For some reason it insists on holding the current date and time, no matter
what I assign to it. I am fascinated that a variable named "str" knows it's
a date, and I figure the problem is that I do not have the syntax for
assigning to an array of string down correctly...maybe it's picking up an
environment variable? but the documentation is terrible. Any thoughts
appreciated.

I am also having a little trouble getting select-string (i.e. greP) to parse
a test file and match a regex, if anyone has any thoughts on that. I suspect
the learning curve there too.
