Actually, I think the article from Reuters was written correctly. It was reported as
though it was a crime. Like it would be reported in London, or Chicago.

I personally think it should have stated that the shooter was a police officer or
soldier.

But the nationality and ethnic background of the shooter and the shootee are
irrelevant.

The fact that he was drunk is an added element to the crime, but the
inclusion/exclusion of that fact may have been an editorial or space limitation
decision.

The good news is that the young man will live, and that the shooter has been arrested.

When I said that Israeli soldiers where destroying and
vandalizing and looting Palestinians homes and stores
and schools and anything they can find when they
"invaded" palestinian towns, people said I was a liar
and im lying about all this to cause hate, but guess
what showed up today in the Israeli newspapers..

And for people to say that the media is biased towards
the Palestinians ? Here is a very small example, you
decide for yourself.

Israeli newspaper.

IDF soldiers shot and wounded an Arab resident of East
Jerusalem Saturday, who they suspected of being a
terrorist. The Arab was in West Jerusalem at a
discotheque close to the center of the city. During
the evening, a drunken IDF soldier, of Vietnamese
descent, spotted two Palestinians loitering at the
entrance to the discotheque, in the company of a
Vietnamese woman. An argument broke about between the
Palestinians and the soldier. The three left the
discoteque, and, during angry exchanges, the soldier
reportedly struck one of the Palestinians, Kais Iman,
with the butt of his rifle. The Palestinian ran off in
the direction of Bikur Holim hospital when the soldier
opened fire. Two other soldiers, hearing shots, ran to
the area, where the drunken soldier told them that the
Palestinian was a suspected terrorist. The two began
to chase after the Arab, shot and wounded him. A short
time later, the Palestinian was found unconscious on
Hanevi'im Street, with four bullet-wounds. He was
taken to Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Karem,
where doctors described his condition as serious. The
soldiers involved were detained for questioning by
Jerusalem police.

Here is what got reported on Reuters, and then made
reference to in other US papers..

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A gunman opened fire in the
center of west Jerusalem early on Sunday, wounding two
people in an attack that police said had no apparent
connection to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A
police spokesman said an armed man was taken into
custody after the shooting near the Bikur Holim
hospital in the mostly Jewish section of the city.
"It's apparently not nationalistic," the spokesman
said, using the term Israeli officials apply to
incidents stemming from the 19-month-old Palestinian
uprising against Israeli occupation. Police have
remained on high alert in Jerusalem, which has been
the frequent site of Palestinian shooting attacks and
suicide bombings during the conflict.

Does it say that the gunman was a Drunk Israeli
soldier ? NO
Does it say the victim was Palestinian ? NO
Notice it said an armed man was taken into custody ?
no, the Isaeli soldier was the one taken into
custodythe Un-armed Palestinian man was shot.
Anyone reading that article would think the gunman was
a Palestinian, and the victims where Israelis ...thats
the power of the media!!
