Based on this, I can only assume that you consider the term 'liberal' to be as inflamatory as 'anti-patriotic', 'terrorist', 'communist' and 'socialist'.
I have never met a conservative who is insulted by being called a 'conservative', but I have met plenty of liberals who get insulted if you call them a 'liberal'. I find that funny (but not in a 'ha-ha' way, more of a 'weird' way).
