Smart people know "the news" has for the most part digressed into
entertainment once again.
Or maybe it's just people with a memory (not that I'm one, but
sometimes it works-- all the smoke, ja know?), noticing the cycles we
seem to endlessly repeat.
Eh. I'm confident that it will change, again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Anyways, you've already stated that comparing Rush to Jon is like
apples and oranges-- one knows and constantly states he's "fake", the
other, well, wants to be a real boy but hasn't figured out that bit
about truthfulness.
Or "spin", if you prefer (but he does lie a lot... tho the "never have
to retract anything because never wrong" bit was good for a laugh, a
few years back).
Remember a few months ago, the teleprompter deal with the Irish dude?
Yeah, Rush was full of the facts on that one! He thought he was being
funny, too. Hell, so did I-- until it turned out to be fictional. I
was *so* bummed about that. I *wanted* it to be true, it would have
been side-splitting-ly funny. Alas.
But, again, comparing Rush to Jon is just silly. Stewart is _way_ out
of Limbaugh's league. As in, Jon is above-- both in news
commentary/satire and funny-ness.
Rush spends a lot more time ranting than making funnies... SORT OF
sad, but it's obviously popular, so I can't blame him for "selling
out".
Dirty tricks suck. It's too bad you think the Daily Show plays dirty
tricks with "the context", yet believe the Rush Hour is some sorta
paragon of truth-- er, "facts".
The Gospel, maybe?
We were talking about entertainment, neh? You mix your entertainment
with your "facts"? Do you see how dangerous that mentality is? And
here you are, making fun of people who get their news from a
satire-show?
This does not compute </robot voice>
(!in Spanish, I'd put the /voice tag first, so you'd be reading that
in the robot voice, vs. afterwords!)
Is there nothing like that 1/2 hour news deal out there? That was
*exactly* the kind of thing I was after.

Dude! Better than Rathers? Are you farking serious? Dan is [I mean
was, thanks!] a Real [anchor]Man.
Didn't he own up to the mistake you keep harping on? Unlike Mr. Never Recant?
How do you feel about Schieffer?
Rathers is an ok guy, in small doses. /funny quote

Informative entertainment? Yuck! Better to watch something on public
television.
I rest my case.
P.S.: Is there nothing like that 1/2 hour news deal out there? That
was *exactly* the kind of thing I was after.
