Then you and I agree that we can absolutely cannot afford to have
government run healthcare.

We agree that, at the end of the day, there is only so much money and
the best system Man has ever devised to deliver the best product at
the lowest cost is the well-regulated market.  It ain't perfect.  But
it's the best.

If we drive costs down to their near optimal level that means tax
payers can easily provide care for those that can't afford it.

Government's only mechanism to drive down costs is by dictat.

In order to make the right dictats you have to fully understand the
entire supply and demand chain.

America just had a near economic meltdown because government doesn't
that AND government has also failed to regulate the healthcare market
which is why we're talking about this in the first place.

So the thought that the government can competently run the healthcare
system in spite of every indication that it can't is near insanity.
