It's an attempt to protect their brand. There may be something else going on behind the scenes - e.g. they are targeting one specific company that is using "flash" or they are working proactively to prevent a big competitor from coming out with something that uses the word. I wonder whether the word flash would stand up in court in a trademark dispute. Microsoft, with all the money in the world, lost their battle to protect the word windows, and flash is just as common a word. The problem is that someone needs to fight the court battle, and who has that kind of money? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
