I look at it this way, my reaction to that was huh? What did he do to deserve it?
I actually look at other factors, such as greater cooperation with Pakistan, the EU and other countries since the election. When the Bush regime was in power, I was hearing from friends who used to be quite pro American, saying some things that were not just anti-American but outright hostile to this country. And this was from people living in the US's strongest ally. I do not hear that now. If anything these people are saying things that could only be considered very pro-American again. BTW I am thinking about a couple friends of mine in specific. One works for the Conservative Party's national headquarters in Ottawa, and the other is in a tory mla's office. Not the most liberal people at all.
