Yeah, if you read this goofiness inside out he seems to more disagree with George W Bush foreign policy than the US. But he also seems to have that "ignore it and it will go away" philosophy which isn't gonna work. In other words he makes the assumption that the US (or others) should NOT be at war with "Islam". If the second half of the 20th century was a war with communism (or really dictatorships), I wonder if the first half of the 21st century won't be a war with caliphates. Attaturk fought the caliphates and won in Turkey, but now it seems those successes are back sliding. In other words, you don't blame the victims for "radicalizing" the criminals.
