The NFL has stats on that.....this is from memory but, I think the receiving team wins over 60% of the time.
However, the number of games where the receiving team wins on their FIRST POSSESSION is quite a bit lower. This is the stat the NFL always breaks out when they say that their overtime rules are "fair". Wind or no wind, in a sudden death game...you take the ball.....come on.
