Mike,
I've started doing some teaching here and hope I found a little niche... I'm
going around to local businesses that have computers and small networks and
offering to train them on anything... I've done three classes now on intro to
computers... for a couple local dentist/doctor shops.. I've been charging them
$75/person for an 8hour class.. I put together a little tutorial and tell them
its up to them to take notes on what they want to remember and go from there.. I
get them to take a survey on what they want to learn to better help them in
their job...I open it to 16 per class (if I can't get 15 then no class). I made
a deal with the local education center to let me use a classroom.. $300 a day...
computers and projector included... so I'm still netting about $112/hr for
teaching.. best of all , they have all been weekend classes.. the last class I
did I got the classroom for free as I did some work for the center as a trade
off.. I don't have enough for a full time job, but I'm working on it.. I've been
asked to put together an advanced class as well as an intro to web development
class... I'm hoping this will turn into a part time job... Maybe this will give
you some ideas... I think the boss people like it that I survey them and try to
cater to their employees needs... plus I'm cheap.. I'm 1/3 of the price of the
cheapest trainer in town..

Just my 2 cents...

OK, so I can't spell and trust in my mail program to do it for me. I'm still
happy about the situation. I really wish that teaching could net me as much
money as programming does. I really love it.
