there is a wierd dichotomy in the last few months of pregnancy where the doctor has two patients and has to balance their interests. I remember bed rest, had to do it both times. Drove me nuts, and I am a fairly sedentary bookish sort. I suppose they could say that not doing it harmed the baby, tho I am more familiar with it as a precaution for the mother's health. I'd be offended if that had happened to me but I am not entirely sure whether I think the doctor was wrong.
