So, I'm watching the news yesterday where Evan Bayh says that he wants out of
the Senate because they're not doing anything. Dems vote 91% on party lines,
Repubs have threatened fillibuster 100 times....40 times more than their
previous high.

HIs solution is to replace all the senate....which would be fine w/me. But the
more I got to thinking about it, the more I realized it wouldn't change a
thing. I consider myself more or less a centrist. There are things from the
R's that I'd like to see get done and there are things from the D's that I'd
like to see get done. The problem is, I'm more frightened of the radical wing
of the R's than the radical wing of the D's. So when I go to the polling
station, all other things equal and knowing how much party line plays into
things, I'll check the D box.

I have a feeling that many people are this same way. I just don't see a valid
centrist third party as an option because it seems in order to organize like
that you really need to be passionate about an issue....

What's your take?
