I, and others, disagree that it will mean the effective end of
Medicare coverage. That includes the AMA which endorsed the measure
and certainly has a track record of not supporting efforts that would
make it so that doctors wouldn't be able to see their Medicare
patients.

And yes, I do believe that young people understand that they will be
forced to pay for health insurance. Then again, I don't personally
know anyone who voluntarily goes without health insurance coverage. I
know people that cannot afford it, which is one of the things this
bill starts to work on, but none that would turn down affordable
coverage.

And, finally, no I do not believe that we are destroying our standard
of living by piling on the national debt with this bill. I also don't
believe that the numbers the CBO scored are going to be true either. A
1.3 trillion dollar deficit reduction is based on unreasonable
assumptions. But I do think that the package of taxes and other
measures contained in the bill will keep it revenue neutral with a
good chance that it will reduce future budget gaps significantly as
the healthcare costs of companies and individuals decrease and
profitability increases and thus tax revenue increases. Those things
are difficult to forecast with any precision, of course.
