moved from the Milgram thread as being off topic to that thread.

Just look in the news where a simple diplomatic mistake, quickly
apologized for (and accepted) has been spun out into a 'command' from
the US to perform (or not perform) an action in a city who's status
was part of negotiations between two groups. Now those negotiations
are tainted with the decision of the US that the city will go to one
party regardless of negotiations.

Yes, there are some who feel that the US should lay down the law (as
they see it) on Israel (and only Israel), but it's being played out on
the part of the US as a media circus. Clinton's actions in this have
to come directly from Obama. Obama's actions have to come directly
from Obama. He thinks he knows better about the Middle East than
anyone else yet all of his actions has caused less peace than more.

The Palestinians are doing all they can to avoid talking to Israel
despite the wishes of the US. The other Arab countries are rejecting
any contact or any confidence building measures with Israel despite
the wishes of the US. The more Obama blasts and commands Israel, the
weaker Israel seems which leads to more demands and less negotiations.
Abbas got some power and now is using it to get more power. No
negotiations - just forced results.
Negotiations between parties means negotiations and the more the US
demands, the less negotiations go on.

One day soon Israel will take the support that the US gives them (most
of which must be spent in the US) and just reject it. This will screw
up Egypt because of how the support is allocated. This will screw up
so many things and all because Obama has to make demands on one side
in the middle of negotiations.

But he's the hope and change president. He knows better than us. He's
going to change the world. Lets hope the change is for the better.
