Um, did the mention that this was not a settlement not get through?
This was a simple community construction project in a pre-existing
neighborhood which has been used as a hammer. And yes, there has been
moves behind the scenes to stop it.

Oh, and Israel has been battling it's own people to implement the
settlement freeze that it agreed to with the US. The same agreement
that specifically excluded Jerusalem. But the US has decided to renege
on that agreement and implement the "no Jew allowed to build in
Jerusalem" rule. And yes, that's what the US wants. Arabs can build
anywhere but not Jews. The racism of that 'rule' is blaring to me.
