I'm pretty sure that Robert isn't an avowed hater of Islam. Correct me
if I'm wrong, Robert. Tim said in this thread that he hates Islam,
perhaps you got the two confused? To my knowledge, most of the people
on this list who have a dislike for Islam have a dislike for organized
religion in general. That may or may not fit your definition of
bigotry, I don't know.

Robert's point, unless I'm mistaken, was he felt that if the suspected
attackers has been Christian that their religion would have been
mentioned by CNN, whereas because the Chechens are Muslim, he felt
that the religion was not mentioned. Based off of past discussions, I
would guess that he'd ascribe that difference to CNN being politically
correct and not wanting to enflame things by always saying "muslim"
and "terrorist attack" together and that the double standard makes
them an example of the twisted approach to journalism predominant in
mainstream American news.

I countered by noting that other flame ups in the region, like South
Ossetia, are with Christian dominated-countries and that the religion
is not mentioned in those instances, nor was it an issue with other
breakaway republics.

The issue wasn't about the religion of the supposed attackers but
rather how the media portrays them and the perception of a double
standard.

Honestly, I suspect that Glen Beck probably doesn't know what to make
of the situation. Muslims blowing up Communists? I suspect it is a
win-win in his twisted world.

Robert's point, or at least the one I took away from his post, wasn't
about religion, it was about what he perceives to be a double standard
in news coverage. That, to me, does not equate hatred or bigotry
toward any group other than a disgust with news organizations. Up
until your comments on the thread, the discussion was about whether it
was responsible journalism or not. No one was hating on any religion.
Perhaps you should go back and reread the thread.
