I believe the "black hole eats Earth" theory has been pretty well debunked.
I won't pretend to understand all of the theoretical physics involved, but
every reputable article I've seen on the topic says that there is no threat.

The basic premise of the argument is that the gravity of a black hole is
directly related to its mass. Even if the LHC does manage to generate tiny
black holes (which some scientists concede is theoretically possible) they
will very likely evaporate into space nearly instantly. In the case of one
that does survive, it would be so small that it would take billions of years
to collect enough matter to even think about.
