Definitely alot of great secular charities out there.  Churches
certainly don't have any corner on that market.  Thought most
charities usually don't invest in huge symbols for their rooftops and
buildings - so I guess they actually have more to apply to actual
charity work.

So if you think that people have stopped giving to churches because of
the scandals, they presumably are still giving to charity, just not
churches.  Unless it's really just the economy and has nothing to do
with the scandals at all.

Seriously though, and this isn't an argument, it's something I have
thought about before...  If all the money currently donated to
churches were to go directly to charities instead, could more good be
done in this world?  If huge fancy church buildings (that mostly sit
empty 6 days a week) didn't have to be maintained, and all that goes
along with it - would we be able to double the charity work that could
be done?  Triple it?
