Of course I wrote that. It is true and it was a counterbalance point to the one written by Jerry. This is a complex issue and there is blame to go around on all sides. You can't reasonably say, in my opinion, that any one side or action is the root cause. > It wouldn't be an issue if the government enforced the laws that exist now. > There would be no need for comprehensive immigration reform. I can't see any logic by which this is true. America would still have a strong need of comprehensive immigration reform even if the laws on the books were all enforced to the letter. The problem is large and complex. It will not be solved by simple-minded, punitive actions. There needs to be enforcement of laws and border protection, no doubt. Those are part of an overall solution. But the overall solution needs to also address the reasons why so many people have come here, why they have jobs here, how our communities deal with an influx of immigrants and how we are going to move to a more sane system that provides for the needs of our country. > "You are coming across as a very angry man with very poor social skills and > a dirty mouth." > > You just now noticing? When you have no more arguments, resort to yelling > and name calling. That wasn't me, btw. That was Jerry commenting on the vitriol coming from Eric. I agreed with Jerry on that and would also extend the admonition to Brian. Jerry and I have, thus far, been having a very civil discussion.
