I think this will get push back from a fair section of the Democratic caucus. I'd be surprised if even one of my state's Senators voted for it and I'm pretty sure that at least 3 out of the 5 Reps would vote against it. On the other hand, I could see this gaining some votes from the Republican side of the aisle. Some people over there would vote against it no matter what, just because it is a bill brought forth by Democrats, but I could see it gaining some crucial votes by people like McCain who has broadly supported immigration reform in the past but is tacking hard to the right due to a primary challenge. I'll ask my Senators and my Rep what their stance is on this issue and get back to the list with my results.
