I agree.  I did some TKD in the Army and it was some good stuff.  I think
any martial art instills that self discipline.  I wish I had that as a kid.

Let me just add...i was only in TKD for a little while, but my 16 year old
niece just reached black belt. She's got discipline, self confidence, and
yet she's an outgoing, humble....average teenager. I know TKD didn't give
her all of that, but it certainly helped.

I think martial arts are a terrific exercise, especially for teenagers who's
adolescent problems often times stem from self-esteem issues. If you are
confident in yourself, you don't become a slut or a drug abuser or a bully
or even worse...an emo!

Properly instructed, martial arts build up your most important
defense....your sense of self.
